Virus hoaxes are not viruses at all. Virus hoaxes are usually annoying chain letters that tell you about viruses that will possibly do lots of harm on your computer system, when in fact the viruses mentioned probably do not exist. Some of the e-mails will tell you that the virus was advertised on CNN or other types of media.
You do not need to be scared of these chain letters, because the viruses they mention DO NOT EXIST.
Please note, however, that some hoaxes may advertise real viruses, so they still should not always be taken lightly. The e-mail message will not do harm, but sometimes the e-mail message will inform you of fake or real viruses that are out there. Therefore we recommend that you are cautious with hoaxes even though their is no great threat by them.
The most common hoaxes are as follows:
SULFNBK | |
A Virtual Card For You | |
Family Pictures | |
Bud Frogs Screen Savers | |
Let's Watch TV | |
Guts to Say Jesus |
Please note these are listed as hoaxes.
We do not guarantee that someone in the future will make a real virus with the same name.
We ask that you be careful with any suspicious e-mails.
